Bellevue Youth Symphony Orchestra (BYSO), a nonprofit organization in Bellevue, WA, serves over 545 student musicians in six large orchestras and three instrumental ensembles. In 2018, BYSO underwent a complete re-brand. At the time, my objective as Marketing & Communications Associate was to develop their new messaging and branding. Now in 2020, I continue to serve this wonderful organization as a freelancer.
Below are digital and print materials I created.
2020 Virtual Garden Party
Without much time to waste, BYSO had to shift their regular fundraiser event to an online event. The fundraiser ran from April 6 – May 9, 2020, in which student and staff performances were posted on the website, Instagram, and Facebook. Creating intriguing content for all of these channels, in addition to the newsletter, was critical for the success of this fundraiser.
I edited 32 videos plus a few extra for BYSO’s Virtual Garden Party. Here is an example:
Facebook and Instagram Graphics
The fundraiser was a great success. Over $22,000 was raised, surpassing the $20,000 goal. The video performances allowed students and staff to participate. On the final day of the fundraiser, the community really came together and donated. People across the county, including relatives and people who had never donated before, decided to support Bellevue Youth Symphony Orchestra. This was a major achievement.
